Welcome to Our Blog

Welcome to Our Blog
As anyone who has participated in UConn's Education Abroad in Cape Town will tell you there are no words to adequately explain the depth of the experiences, no narratives to sufficiently describe the hospitality of the people, and no pictures to begin to capture the exquisite scenery. Therefore this blog is only intended to provide an unfolding story of the those co-educators who are traveling together as companions on this amazing journey. As Resident Director of this program since 2008 it is once again my privilege and honor to accompany another group of remarkable UConn students to this place I have come to know and love.
In peace, with hope,

Katherine knows there is lots to be done before she leaves in 20 days

There are less than 20 days of our trip remaining and it feels surreal. There is a lot of work to be done for my activist project, internship, and classes, and I can't believe it's all coming to a close. This upcoming weekend is longer because of the holiday on Monday, so I'm looking forward to spending time being productive and fitting in more fun excursions. I've been doing my best to journal so that I remember as many details as possible, to keep the memories fresh so that I can tell friends and family about it. I'm also sad to leave my internship and Mams, and I hope we can help her out as much as we can before we go - we're planning on donating some money and helping Prevention in Action register as an NGO so that the organization is more stable and can get more people involved.
